One of my favorite places I visited this year was Paris. I love the Seine river, dotted with elegantly sculpted buildings. The Tour Eiffel (Eiffel Tower)which I climbed by night; the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Louvre, Montmartre, a French hilltop peppered with portrait artists and creperies. Though I do not like how much the French smoke, I like the way the French dress and drink wine at late hours and the mind-stunning aroma of freshly flipped crepes, spread thin with jam. I love the wide boulevards, which remind me a bit of Washington, D.C., and how easy it is to find your way around.
